Cream Cheese Frosting

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package (8 ouncees) room-temperature cream cheese
  • 8 tbps (1 stick) room-temperature butter
  • 3 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

Place the cream cheese and butter in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed until combined, about 30 seconds.
On low speed, add the sugar a bit at a time, blending until the sugar is well incorporated, about 1 minute.
Add the vanilla, then increase the mixer speed to medium and blend the frosting until fluffy, about 1 minute.
Use at once to frost the top and sides of the cake of your choice.
